A man takes over Cuddy’s office and holds House, Thirteen, and several patients hostage. His demand? A diagnosis. The man forces Thirteen to act as a guinea pig for his treatments and House has to end the standoff before a SWAT team opens fire.

The dark eclipse plays havoc with the heroes’ powers. Arthur orders Elle and Sylar to bring in Claire. Hiro, Ando, and Matt follow Daphne to her hometown to learn what hold Arthur has on her, and Peter and Nathan travel to the Haitian’s hometown to recruit him for the war with Pinehearst.
The gang learns a new way to get their dates to sleep with them after Ted walks in on Robin’s date sitting naked on the couch.
The guys party it up in NYC despite Vince getting fired, and thanks to a tip from Rita Chase (Mercedes Ruehl), E tries to get Gus Van Sant to cast Vince in a role, but Van Sant won’t let him audition, leading to a confrontation between Vince and Eric in which Vince fires Eric. Meanwhile, Vince reconnects with his high school sweetheart and Drama considers an investment opportunity. Turtle’s secret relationship with Jamie-Lynn Sigler is ultimately revealed to the rest of the boys. In the end, Ari comes to see Vince, to tell him that Martin Scorsese saw his Smoke Jumpers footage, and wants to cast him in his modern day take on the Great Gatsby. Vince returns to California to apologize to Eric and re-hires him as his manager. A cameo from Michael Phelps.
